Ralph James Schomaker

Ralph James Schomaker Thomas Twp, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle passed away Friday, January 8, 2016. Age 76 years. The son of the late Amelia and Stanley Schomaker was born February 23, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Glenda Faith Mockridge, November 25, 1961. She survives him. Ralph was employed by General Motors, Malleable Iron Foundry, as a fork truck driver, retiring in 1992 with 35 years of service. He was an active lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an Usher and Elder. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, searching for golf balls and watching westerns. Surviving besides his wife, Glenda, are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Holly and Ron Michael; Jeff and Kris Schomaker; April and Patrick Browne; six grandchildren, Courtney Beckmann; Tiffany (Chelsea) Beckmann; Ryan Schomaker; Kent Schomaker; Austin Browne; Auburn Browne; one great grandson, Rory Coulter; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Gertie Schomaker; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Schomaker; many nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law, Robert Schomaker has predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Joshua Becker will officiate with burial in Owen Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and then on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation in Ralph's honor to Christ Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
