Randall "Randy" Wardin, a longtime beaches resident, passed away on April 21, 2021. Randall was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 29, 1953, and grew up on the family farm in Merrill, Michigan. After attending St. Peter Lutheran (Hemlock), and graduating from Hemlock High School in 1971, he attended Michigan State University, before leaving Michigan for Jacksonville Beach in 1983.
Randall was a cab driver and had many loyal customers, mainly serving the members of the American Legion, The Moose Lodge and the VFW. He never met a stranger. Randall's cab was a warm and welcoming place that could also serve, in a pinch, as a confessional, a classroom or a chapel. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Randall, in his own way, was a deeply religious person. A life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran (Hemlock, MI), he attended Bethlehem Lutheran (Jax Beach, Florida). His family takes comfort in knowing that he now rests peacefully in the House of the Lord.
Randall's Michigan family, his brothers and sisters, would like to thank the members of the beaches community. It was here that he found a second home. Randy knew how lucky he was to find this special place and it's incredible people. Thank you!
Randall, son of Norbert & Eileen Wardin, leaves behind his four siblings; Gregory (Julie) Wardin, Hemlock Michigan; Shelley (Robert) Green, The Villages, Florida; Barbara Wardin (Kim Essex), Saginaw, Michigan; and Kurt (Joyell) Wardin, Beaverton, Michigan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, Bonnie Johnson (aunt) and William Proctor (uncle), and numerous cousins. Randall Wardin will be buried in a private ceremony in Hemlock, Michigan.
