House, Ray E. Hemlock, MI Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother was called home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the age of 87. Ray was born October 19, 1927, in Lakefield Township to the late Nicholas and Mary Jane (Marshall) House. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Geraldine Marie Franz on September 27, 1952; she survives him. Ray worked as an electrician at Dow Corning in Midland for nearly 44 years. He served his community as a park board member for 17 years, VFW member, township electrical inspector, Jaycees member, and 4-H leader. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and fishing. His true passion was gardening and sharing the produce with his community. He was an active member of St. John XXIII Parish serving on the building and grounds committee and as an usher. Besides his wife Gerry he is survived by 6 sons and 4 daughters, Penny (David) Traver, Gregg House, Brad (Billie) House, Paula Wardin, Wayne House, Dino House, Peggy (Michael) Glynn, Glenn House, Pam House, Todd (Hilary) House; 19 grandchildren, Melody (Matthew) Wesley, Matt Traver, Nicholas House, Marissa House, Samantha (Jason) Nelson, Adam House, Jeremy (Salina) Wardin, Josette (Neal) Marsh, Jennifer (Bryan) Liotta, Jacob House, Brittany House, Cory House, Dana (Scott) Pittel, Danielle (Taylor Hogan) Glynn, Hannah House, Colton House, Gabriella House, Holly House; 10 great-grandchildren, Hunter Traver, Cade Traver, Cole Wesley, Mea Wesley, Peyton Nelson, Haley Chadwick, Jonny Wardin, Ellie Marsh, Trekstyn Liotta, Alexis Pittel; sisters, Ellen Walters and Shirley Fortier. Ray was predeceased by his grandson, Aaron House; son-in-law, Jonathon Wardin; and his siblings, Gladys Sundock, Doris Sherwood, Marion Lauer, Marshall House, Elton House, and Howard House. The family would like to thank the staff at Bickford Cottage for the care and love they provided to Ray. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at St. John XXIII Parish St. Mary's Church in Hemlock. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the auspices of VFW Post 7302 Hemlock/Merrill. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Road on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Friends may also visit on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
