Kenny, Raymond P. "Ray" Hemlock, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather Raymond P. Kenny went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 7, 2014, age 82 years. Son of the late Kenneth and Ellen (Darby) Kenny was born in Saginaw, Michigan March 25, 1932. He married Mary D. Naessens November 3, 1956. Ray served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a life-long member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Merrill. He enjoyed spending time with his family and "lived to farm and farmed to live" with his brother Don as co-founder of Kenny Brothers, Kenny Inc., and Kenny Brothers Produce. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary D. (Naessens) Kenny; two daughters, Caroline (Mark) Fini and Deanna (Barry) Schafer; one son, Bob (Julie) Kenny; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Patrick, Matt, Devin, Hannah, Sam, Nicholas, Jacob and Morgan; sisters-in-law, Patricia Wolgast, Catherine Naessens, Kay Matzke and Ruth Kenny; one brother-in-law, Ed Matzke; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was predeceased by one sister, Marion Scoles, one brother, Donald Kenny, brothers-in-law, Alvin Scoles, Gerald Wolgast and William Naessens. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 419 S. Midland Road, Merrill. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post # 7302. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel 201 N. Miller Rd. from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, with vigil service at 7:30 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service. The family would like to express a special thank you to Ed, Mollie, Cindy and Carrie of Residential Health and the outstanding staff at Covenant Healthcare. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Merrill, American Cancer Society or an organization of donors choice.
