Passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the Rose City Villa. Age 70 years. The son of the late Rubin and Bertha (Stange) Diener was born May 13, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Cheryl Eastman, August 23, 1968. She survives him. Richard served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 497th Engineering Company. He retired as Manufacturing Supervisor with Northern Tube in Pinconning. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan. Surviving besides his wife, Cheryl, are two daughters, Stacy Bodrie and Bryan Neumeyer; Annie Powers and her husband Steve; four grandchildren, Broc and E.J. Bodrie; Aubrey and Brielle Powers and a grandson to be born in December; a brother, Harold Diener; a sister-in-law, Margaret Diener; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, two sisters, David, Lydia and Norman Diener, Edna VonBerg, and Carl Diener have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate with Military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday.
