Iamurri, Richard Joseph Saginaw, Michigan Our loving Husband, Father and Grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 15, 2015 at Covenant Hospital at the age of 69 years after a long illness. The son of the late Joseph Frank Iamurri and Shirley Maxine Size was born on December 18, 1945 in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1964. He married Colleen Gail Dowling May 18, 1968; she survives him. Rick retired from General Motors as a Maintenance General Supervisor after 42 years of service. Rick loved spending his retirement watching his grandchildren's sporting events. For many years Rick was involved in coaching travel soccer. Rick fostered lifelong relationships with many of his players keeping in touch with many of them up to the time of his passing. Rick and Colleen spent many summers in East Tawas City Park, camping, where they made wonderful friendships and everlasting memories with the Simersons, Vanderbergs, Byrds, Hinmans, Logans, and Sue Warren. Rick was an avid Detroit Tigers and Pistons fan and a sports fanatic in general. In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his daughter Wendy (Matthew) Davis and son Nicholas (Tara) Iamurri; grandchildren: Benjamin and Bayne Davis and Nicholas Iamurri; Mother-in-law Elaine Dowling; his siblings, Rodney (Glenna) Iamurri, Randal (Beatrice) Iamurri; brothers-in-law, Robert Dowling and partner Julie Walker, Thomas Beach; many nephews, nieces, relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Francis Dowling; mother-in-law, Florence "Sis" Dowling; sister in law Nancy Beach, and nephew Mark Beach. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Thursday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. and at church Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service.
