Sova, Richard Saginaw, MI
Passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, age 70 years. Richard was born on July 20, 1944, son of the late Cletus and Mary (Belchak) Sova, in Saginaw. He married Elaine Gehrcke June 20, 1964, she predeceased him. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Richard retired from Saginaw Steering Gear-Delphi after many years of service. He was a member of the Saginaw Police Reserves, enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, square dancing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Ruth) Sova and Michael (Julie) Sova; his grandchildren, Julian Stevens, Dustin, Dominic, Devin, Dorian, Destiny and Danielle Sova, Alysa and Shelby Strecker, one great grandson, Julian Stevens, Jr.; his sisters, Barbara Macumber and Mary Oliver; his brothers, Tony (Janie) Sova, Edward (Elaine) Sova, Clarence (Renee) Sova and Larry (Deanna) Sova; his daughters-in-law, Rachel Strecker and Beverly Stevens; also many other special relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife Elaine, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Sova and his sister, Patricia Bussinger. Honoring Richard's wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway. Rev. Kathleen Basner will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimer's Association.
