Richard "Dick" Keel

Richard passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late Russel and Irene (Brubaker) Keel. Dick was born on April 22, 1930 in LaPorte, Michigan. Dick was a graduate of Midland High School class of 1948. He later served in the National Guard for eight years. On October 4, 1952 he married Arlene Kruth at St. Peter Lutheran Church; the two have been together for over 67 years. Richard worked for Dow Chemical Company as a boiler maker, he retired in 1984 after 35 years. He has been a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for over 67 years. Dick was an avid bowler, golfer and gardener. In his spare time he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and building homes, especially for his family. He is survived by his wife Arlene and three children Gary (Laura) Keel, Ron (Laurie) Keel and Jim (Karen Ann) Keel. Richard is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Donald Keel, Delos Keel and his grandson Russell Keel. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 North Raucholz Road, Hemlock. Rev. Richard E. Mundt and Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate. Burial will follow at Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00- 4:00 pm and 6:00- 8:00 pm on Monday January 20, 2020 at W.L. Case and Company, 201 North Miller Road, Saginaw and from 10:00 am until the time of the service at church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Peter Lutheran Church.
