Torres, Richard Saginaw, Michigan Loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at HealthSource Saginaw at the age of 70 years. The son of the late Julio and Aurelia (Medina) Torres was born on December 15, 1943 in New Braunfels, Texas. He married Lois Daenzer on September 24, 1977; she survives him. Richard served in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #229 (Blumfield), and Voiture 40 and 8. Richard enjoyed playing cards and telling jokes and stories with family and friends. Surviving besides his wife, Lois, is his daughter: Kimberly (Eric) Hutchinson, granddaughter Emelia Hutchinson, siblings: Josephine (Guadalupe) Silva, Ramon (Diane) Torres, Maryann Fulgencio, Esther (Ken) Harris, Marta (Juan) Cadena, Carlos, Ralph and Cruz Torres, Maria "Eliza" Hesse and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law: Albert (Adelia) Daenzer, his siblings: Minerva Hales, and Paula Torres. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8220 Holland, Saginaw. Rev. Mark Loest will officiate with military burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
