A beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Richard passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024. He was born on November 23, 1934, to the late Patrick and Elsie Willett. Richard lived a life characterized by his unwavering kindness, strong work ethic, and vibrant sense of humor. He proudly graduated from Arthur Hill High School and went to serve his country as a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that instilled in him values of dedication and service. 

For 18 years, Richard worked as a Parts Manager for Burt Watson, where he was known for his professionalism and amicable demeanor. His colleagues respected him not only for his expertise but also for his friendly nature and willingness to lend a helping hand. An avid lover of the outdoors, Richard embraced hobbies such as golfing and bowling, which he often enjoyed in the company of family and friends. He fostered deep connections with those around him and was well-liked in the community for his warm-hearted and giving spirit.

Richard was cherished by his family, which includes his three children: Steve (Kim) Willett, Chris (Susie) Willett, and Mike (Stephanie) Willett. He found great joy in watching his six grandchildren grow, including Kyle, Danielle, Kendra (Nate) Herring, Joe, and Rich. His legacy continues with four great-grandchildren: Winnie, Ceci, Tommy, and Harper, who brought endless delight to his life. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores, ten brothers and sisters, and close friend Joanne Early.

A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
