Passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the age of 92 years.
The son of the late Gene Cronkright and Isobel (Pateman) and Frank Woodke was born on November 15, 1931 in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill Tech in 1947; then joined the U.S. Air Force. Richard married Nancy Clement on August 4, 1951; she predeceased him on March 1, 2016. He retired from B & K Tool & Die after 31 years of service. Richard was a charter member of Countryside Trinity Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching Michigan pro sports teams, traveling and was an avid reader.
Surviving are his children: Dana (Ken) Cooper, Gevan (Helen) Woodke, Darren (Joann) Woodke, grandchildren: Carey (Brian) Kutz, Kaitlin (John) Denton, Taylor Hansen, Gena Woodke, Jordyn Woodke, Jade Woodke, Brecque Woodke, Lore Woodke, Rebecca (Troy) Lictawa, Rachel (Joshua) Pippin, great-grandchildren: Zachary Kutz, Isabel Kutz, Nathan Kutz, Daxton Gibson, Lexie Woodke, Jaxson Jimenez, Kaliana Torrez, Esme Rotari, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including his special friend, Mary Longstreth. Besides his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law: Ronald (Shirley) Woodke.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Countryside Trinity Church, 4609 Weiss St. Rev. Dr. Rhashell Hunter will officiate with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
