Rita Louise Wall of Caro, Michigan
Beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. At 80 years of age, Rita, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Brian's House in Essexville. Rita Louise Neddo was born on November 19, 1942, in Gary, Indiana. She was a proud 1962 graduate of Pontiac Central High School. Following graduation, she attended the Detroit School of Business, studying accounting, later in life she attended Baker College. Through a church gathering, she met Lawrence Gene Wall, they dated and were united in marriage on August 1, 1964. Their 29-year union brought four beautiful children. Rita had been employed as a bookkeeper in the gift shop at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac for many years. Having a meticulous eye for detail, while living in North Branch, Rita became an expert seamstress and tailor. Accurately fitting boys and men for prom, wedding tuxedos, varsity letter jackets; as well as fitting and finishing wedding gowns and prom dresses for the ladies. She was also a very successful sales representative with Tupperware and International Gifts for many years and sold Avon for a brief moment. Throughout her life, Rita worked tirelessly as a public educator, speaker, and advocate for all types of disability awareness, as well as addressing the physical and emotional barriers they create. She believed everyone, regardless of their disability, should be treated with the kindness, respect, and dignity they deserve. The role of her lifetime, and one she loved above all others, was to be a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. An avid reader, Rita became the perfect "Jean-of-all-trades" teaching herself everything, ranging from arts and crafts to home repair, she refused to let her disability define her. An avid cook and baker, Rita understood food was both an adventure and experience. Rita was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Caro, where she actively volunteered as a teacher for the AWANA program. She was also an advisory and counsel member of Thumb Body. Rita will forever be remembered for her love and compassion to anyone in need, her strong and unwavering faith, her natural ability to see God's love in all people, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
