Robert A. Kretchman

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away on April 14, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
The son of the late Robert S. and Mary (Leuenberger) Kretchman was born on July 31, 1927 in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Lt Colonel. He graduated from MSU with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Robert married Barbara Rufe on July 5, 1951; she predeceased him in January 13, 1995. He later married Joan Hawkins in 2003; she predeceased him on March 20, 2016. Robert worked as an architect joining the Sam Allen firm. Later he took over the firm naming it R. A. Kretchman, Architect. Bob was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a 50 plus year member of the Saginaw Lions Club.
Bob enjoyed playing golf, playing many years at the MSU Alumni tournament. He also enjoyed hunting and 3-D targeting.
Robert is survived by his sons James (Susan) Kretchman, Paul F. Kretchman, daughter in law, Tenielle Gorey, grandchildren: Sarah (Justin) Hunt, Daniel (Melissa) Kretchman, Dustin (Laura) Kretchman, Jerrid Kretchman, Brittney Kretchman, Alexander Kretchman, Cameron Kretchman. Great-grandchildren: Macklynn Hunt, Jacoby Hunt; Colton Kretchman, Remington Kretchman, Jackson Kretchman, Mylah Kretchman, Julien Shrader, Kaisen Shrader, and many relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wives, he was predeceased by a son, John Kretchman.
Due to the world-wide health crisis, a private burial service was held for Robert. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2020, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Deacon Jeff Rauschert will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home from noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Saginaw, the Saginaw Rescue Mission or to the Saginaw Salvation Army.
