Robert F. Bolger

Passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Age 87 years.
The son of the late Jean (Wiley) and Jake Bolger was born March 27, 1937, in Pigeon, Michigan. He married his High School sweetheart, Rita Jahr, September 1, 1956. She survives him. He graduated from Central Michigan University, receiving his master’s degree in Outdoor Recreation. He landed his dream job as Director of Outdoor Education at Hartley Outdoor Education Center, serving for over 20 years. He began the Huron Fish Company. Robert was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all outdoor activities. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert was very community-minded, active with the Y.M.C.A, the Mosquito Control and other organizations. He befriended many with his kindness and willingness to help.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Rita, four children, Judy Haenke; Cindy and Terry (Slim) Vander Wall; Thomas and Valerie Bolger; Michael Bolger; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol Bolger; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Bolger has predeceased him.
