Robert Dale Porath

Robert Dale Porath Bridgeport, Michigan Passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Covenant Harrison. Age 85 years. The son of the late Helen (Klopf) and Pete Porath was born September 14, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Winnie Yeomans Grinnell, July 5, 1975. She survives him. He served with the U.S. Army Reserve and was employed by U.S. Graphite Corp. retiring with over 45 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and loved his dog, Skip. Surviving besides his wife, Winnie, are seven children, Terry, Jill, Bobby, Billy, Toni, Carla and Tracy; his step-children and their spouses, Jim and Evelyn Grinnell; Cheri and Bobby Arciniega; Shannon and Matt Kowalec; Paul and Brandy Grinnell; his grandchildren, Jason Grinnell; Ashley Lieber; Brooke and Jake Arciniega; Candice Kowalec; Amber Grinnell; Travis Kowalec; A.J. and Austin Grinnell; two great grandchildren, Gavin and Trinity Rose Grinnell; three sisters and their husbands, Arlene Haynes; Joanne and Floyd Zdrojkowski; Carol and Jude Synwelski; numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Milton and Ervin Porath have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. Saginaw. Rev. Walter Yeomans will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday.
