Robert Dee Richards

Robert Dee Richards Saginaw, Michigan Formerly of Wheeler, Michigan Passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Covenant-Cooper at the age of 90. The son of the late Gertrude M. (Patch) and Jay W. Richards was born December 30, 1925 in St. Louis, Michigan. He married Maxine A, McLean, December 31, 1948 in Breckenridge, Michigan. She passed away March 29, 2012. Robert served with the U.S. Army during WWII was employed by Dow Corning Corp. retiring with over 30 years service as a Journeyman Electrician. He operated a farm and hobby orchard in Wheeler and enjoyed bee keeping. His hobbies he enjoyed were woodcarving, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was a member of the ELKS club. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Denise and Bob Bennett, Hemlock, MI; Robyn and Lonnie Butcher, Wheeler, MI; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Robert Zamora; Lyndsey and Sam Weyand; Daniel and Angel Butcher; Greg and Amanda Butcher; seven great grandchildren, Lily and Jackson Zamora; Breighan and Clifton Weyand; Paige, Mason, Bentley and Niamh Butcher; several nieces and nephews. Two sisters and a brother, Geraldine Richards, Harold Richards and Donna Miller have predeceased him. In accordance with Mr. Richards wishes, cremation has taken place.
