Robert F. Reed, Sr. Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016, age 80 years. Robert was born on April 20, 1935, son of the late Freeman and Ethel (Blower) Reed, in Saginaw. He married Donna Roethlisberger on November 5, 1955, she survives him. Robert retired from Steering Gear, Plant 2 after 30 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local #699, as well as the Washington Society. He enjoyed playing the guitar, photography, painting, woodworking, camping, traveling, trips to the casino and Luzerne, where he built his cabin. Robert loved spending time with his family and telling stories. Robert will be remembered for having a friendly spirit and meeting employees in the stores he frequented.
Besides his wife Donna of 60 years, he is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) List, Milford, OH; his grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Reed, McKinney, TX, Sarah (Hans) Kaufmann, Belmont, NC and Brian List, Milford, OH; his great grandchildren, Kyra and Olivia Reed, Reagan and Quinn Kaufmann, Malachi, Gideon and Phineas List; his sisters-in-law, Susan Deyarmond, Saginaw and Kristine Roethlisberger, Freeland; his brother-in-law, James (Patricia) Roethlisberger, Lombard, IL; also many other special nieces, nephews and family friends including, Maureen Bloodworth, Brian (Lacy) Seibel and their daughter Jamelynn, all of Hicksville, OH. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. (Deborah) Reed, Jr., his brothers-in-law, Terry Roethlisberger and Marvin Deyarmond and his niece, Kris Ollila. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Harpal Singh and his staff, Advantage Hospice and his caretaker, Marina.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Dr. Joseph W. Cunningham and Chaplain Jeff Temple will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
