Dyer, Robert G. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at HealthSource at the age of 85 years. The son of the late Chalmer J. and Mildred A. (Lamb) Dyer was born on September 16, 1927 in Toledo, OH. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in broadcasting. He married Mary L. Fuhrman on April 7, 1951; she survives him. He retired from WKNX radio/TV after 55 years of service on the air. Bob along with Dick Fabian originated the Battle of the Bands at the Bay City Roller Rink. Bob emceed the Y-A-Go-Go dances at the YMCA, dances at the Sebewaing Sportsman Club and other Thumb area dances. Bob ("Pixie") hosted a children's television show called Pixie Looney Tunes on WKNX TV. He was a member of First Congregational Church. He was also a lifetime member of YMCA. Bob enjoyed fishing, especially in the UP. Surviving besides his wife, Mary are his children; Rebecca Boyd, James (Lita) Dyer, grandchildren; Ian and Emilyann Boyd, his brother James (Kay) Dyer and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Barbara Thompson. Bob's family would especially like to thank the staff at HealthSource for all the loving care they gave Bob while he was there. Memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
