Robert G. Wight Spaulding Township, Michigan Passed away peacefully, December 24, 2013, at his home following a brief illness. Age 76 years. He was born May 27, 1937 in Saginaw, the son of the late George and Arthela (Floud) Wight. Bob managed the Schemm Farms from 1961 until 1976. He then went to work for Michigan Sugar Company in Carrollton as an agriculturalist, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service. On December 13, 1988, Bob received the gift of life, a kidney, from his son, Brian, which he took great care and pride in. He was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church and now attends Community of Christ Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice (Wesener); his children and their spouses, Karen Wight (Dan Bilich), Ann Arbor; Cheryl Vance (Neal), Saginaw; Brian Wight, Clarkston; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; He is also survived by his siblings, Norma Erickson; Jane (Max) Hartner; Don (Cathy) Wight; Jim (Penny) Wight; and a large extended family. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Community of Christ Church, 300 N. Center Road, Saginaw. Guy Bennett will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and then on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
