Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020 at the age of 77 years. The son of the late Robert and Mabel (Miller) Herrick was born on February 27, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. Bob was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1961, he continued his education at Delta College. He married Marcelyn R. Clarkson on May 8, 1965 in Saginaw, the couple shared 55 years together.
Bob was a true entrepreneur and had many successful businesses throughout his lifetime: The Fireside Inn in Alpena, Crow Memorial and Wilbur Vault Company in Alpena, Herrick Swiss Cheese in Clare, and several more in between. Bob enjoyed being in nature including canoeing and canoe trips, spending time with family and friends at hunting camp, sailing in the North Channel, rock collecting, coin collecting, and antiquing. He loved the summers spent at the family cottage on Lake Superior with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. He always enjoyed a good game of cards and browsing through bookstores for a hidden gem. Bob could be counted on to know how to fix anything.
Bob was loved by those who knew him and was never without a joke and a smile. He considered everyone a friend and will be deeply missed by his wife Marcie, his daughter Jennifer Coles (Herrick), her husband Brian Coles, his grandchildren: Daniel Coles, Nicholas Coles and Katelyn Coles, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Gayle Leach.
A memorial service is unknown at this time due to the stay in place order and restrictions regarding gatherings. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider
