Robert Howard Garrison

Robert Howard Garrison St. Charles, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Age 91 years. The son of the late Catherine (Fieger) and Howard Garrison was born December 28, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Donna Hirschman. She passed away in 1988. After Donnas passing, he met his longtime companion, Carolyn Thom, passed away in 2016. Robert proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1859 and the American Legion Post #439. He was a 70 year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #85. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and was an avid car racing fan and collector of cars. Surviving are three children and their spouses, James and Debra Garrison; Lenette and John Ferguson; Ralph and Andrea Garrison; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Garrison; two step-children, Melisa Brown; Thomas (Jance Greene) Thom; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; a sister and a brother, Donna Rethman, and Gerald Garrison; many nieces and nephews. A son, David Garrison, a sister, Joyce Thompson and a brother, Pete Garrison, and a daughter-in-law, Susan Garrison, have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate with Military Honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday.
