Robert James Lutz Prudenville, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw. Passed away Thursday October 4, 2019. Age 79 years. The son of the late Leona Ann (Wachner) and Elmer Matt Lutz was born December 14, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Sally A. (Sue) Smith. She passed away February 11, 2015. Robert served with the U.S. Army for 34 years serving in the Gulf war. He was employed by General Motors, Skilled Trades as a Millwright, retiring with 40 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #668. He was a member of the American Legion Post #245, Prudenville; a life member and served as Quartermaster of the Bridgeport-Buena Vista V.F.W. post #8440 and later transferred to the Houghton Lake Heights Post #4054. Robert loved to spend time with his grandson, Connor. He liked to work jigsaw puzzles, play cards and hunt and fish with his neighbor. Surviving are his son, Christopher Robert Lutz; his grandson, Connor Christopher Lutz; two sisters, Bonnie Kniebbe and her husband, Thomas; Mary Ellen Dagnan; several nieces, nephews, and his special friend, Thomas Koboldt. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Fred Lutz, and two sisters, Betty Engelhardt and Patricia Lutz. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. Pastor Fred Smith will officiate with Military burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. Friends may visit a the chapel from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
