Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015, at the age of 88 years. Bob was born on July 20, 1926 in Alma, to the late Roy E. and Rose Marie (Duggan) Hamlin. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Cleburne during WWII. He married Norma R. Ruby on April 25, 1947; she survives him. They were married for over 67 years and resided in Saginaw. Bob worked for the railroad while attending Saginaw Business Institute, he then worked for Saginaw Bearing Company for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of the Germania Town & Country Club, and also a member of the Saginaw Masons, and American Legion #439. Surviving besides his wife, Norma are their children: Deborah (John) Egerer, Michael (Darlene) Hamlin, 6 grandchildren: David (Stacey) Egerer, Elizabeth (Dave) Hackett, Ryan (Linley) Combs, Lauren (Ken) Uhrich, Amy (Jeff) Hartenstine, Matt (Megan) Transue, 12 great-grandchildren: Anna, Gracie, Nason, Wyatt, Ryley, Leighton, Israel, Norrah, Lawson, Kendall, Logan, Maya, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Valerie (Milford) Schuette and many nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends. Bob was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and James Martin, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Julia Ruby and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Duane and Janice Ruby. The family would like to thank the staff at Brittany Manor for the loving care they gave Bob the last few months. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd. Rev. Kathryn S. Snedeker will officiate with military honors to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
