Robert L. “Bob” Frank
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. At the age of 78 years.
The son of the late Alfred T. and Eleanor A. (Degroat) Frank, Bob was born on August 1, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. Bob graduated from Arthur Hill High School, with the class of 1960. He was president of A. T. Frank Floor Covering since 1972; he developed, owned and managed commercial real estate and built one of the first self-storage facilities in Saginaw County. Bob was previously a member of Saginaw Home Builders Association, Fordney Club, Saginaw Club, Kiwanis Club of Shields, Shield Civic Association, Thomas Township Business Association, One Hundred Club, Germania Country Club, Greater Saginaw Amateur Hockey Association and Lions Club of Shields. Bob and Katrine enjoyed traveling extensively and shared many wonderful memories. He valued spending time with his dearest friends, whether at the golf course, playing gin while enjoying a cigar, engaging as a member with several civic organizations, or off on another adventure hosting family and friends during his annual trip to Alaska. He loved fishing, especially in Alaska. Bob had a passion in life, driven by his devotion to his family, friends, employees and his business. He will be missed by many friends, who always knew they could find him at the office. Bob was always a leader, a true man of his word. Bob lived life to the fullest and always made sure everyone around him did as well.
Surviving are his loving wife: Katrine L. Frank; four children, four step-children and their spouses: Robert A. and Laura Frank; Gregory J. and Rebecca Frank; Jane and Jeff Martin; Julie and Matt Rappley; Marissa L. Dupius; Jeanette Dupius Warner; Lisa and John Craven; Jason and Catherine Dupius. Robert treasured his twenty-two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a very dear nephew; the Honorable A.T. Frank; a very dear friend: Bob Reichley. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers: Thomas L. Frank; Donald A. Frank and James A. Frank.
A private funeral service has taken place. Burial took place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expressing of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw Rescue Mission.
