Robert Michael Merrow Sr.

Robert Michael Merrow Sr. Bridgeport, Michigan Passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Age 71 years. The son of the late Vleitta May (Gronda) and Jack Edward Merrow was born May 8, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Elaine Marie Reeves, December 7, 1963. His wife of 53 years survives him. He was employed as Patternmaker with General Motors, retiring in 2005 with 41 years of service. He was very active with the International Association of Machinists union, holding many positions and as Grand Lodge Representative. He was a member of the Masons, enjoyed working with model trains and on automobiles, playing and coaching baseball, hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his wife, Elaine, are four children and their spouses, Robert Michael Merrow II, Frankenmuth, MI; Rondell Lee and Jacque' Merrow, Colorado; Robin Michelle and Scott Williams, Birch Run, MI; Robert William and Robin Weaver, Carrollton, MI; his grandchildren, Robert Michael Merrow III; Alyssabeth Elaine Merrow; Zachary Edward Merrow; Abigail Louise Merrow; Jacob Russell Williams; Dakota Michelle Williams; Reeve Landon Merrow; Riley Michelle Merrow; Amanda Costello; Erin Adwell and her husband, Mike; Alexander M. Weaver; Samantha M. Weaver; Jonathon E. Weaver; Patricia J. Weaver; one great grandson, Marshall Adwell; two brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Thomas and Darlene Merrow; Rick and Darlene Merrow; Cherylyn and Gary Eagleson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; his special friends, Sean and Krista Connors; several great neighbors. His sister and brother, Jacqueline Reeves and Greg Merrow have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. Rev. Guy Bennett will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
