Robert P. "Bob" Eichstaedt Saginaw Township
Bob went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the age of 81 years, following a lengthy illness. Bob was born on April 11, 1937, the son of the late Frank and Martha (Plamp) Eichstaedt. He married the love of his life, Rita M. Geer on April 23, 1960. She predeceased him on February 22, 2014. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saginaw, having served as an usher for over 40 years. He currently was attending Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. Bob retired from Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry in 1998 following many years of dedicated service. He also worked many years for J.R. Heinemann Construction.
Bob was a member of the former Washington Society Club and also an avid Detroit Tigers and WWE fan. He enjoyed camping, fishing, yard work, wood working, and most of all spending time with his loving family.
Surviving are three children, Bradley (Nicole) Eichstaedt of Saginaw, Karen (David) Marcoux of Wyoming, MI and Brian (Amy) Eichstaedt of Grandville, MI; Four grandchildren, Eric (Heather) Marcoux, Alicia (Alexander) Veliz-Figueroa, Matthew and Malorie Eichstaedt; Nine great grandchildren, Juliet, Andrew, Selene, Bianca, Aiden, Elena, Ethan, Eli and Joshua; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Marjorie Geer; also several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his brother and sister, Donald (Janet) Eichstaedt and Margaret (Jim) Bean and sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Ray) Bowerman, his mother and father-in-law, Etta and Lisle Geer. The family would like to thank Metro Hospital and Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids for the care of their father.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, at W.L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Dan Miller will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the chapel from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Faith Hospice or Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene.
