Robert “Bob” W. Call of Roscommon
Age 87
Passed away on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022, in Roscommon, Michigan. Born on January 23rd, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Roger & Pauline Call (Provost), Bob was a 1953 graduate of St. Peter & Paul High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1955 and proudly served until 1958. Bob worked for over 39 years as a Manufacturing Engineer for General Motors in Saginaw’s Plant 2. After meeting in high school, he married the love of his life, Shirley Garno, on November 30th, 1957. Bob enjoyed going to craft shows and tinkering with things around the house. As a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed golfing, cutting wood, and spending time being active in nature. Bob is remembered as being witty with a good sense of humor and having a laid-back demeanor. Most of all, he was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Bob is survived by children Sherry (Danny) VanHorn & Kipp Call; grandchildren Michael VanHorn, Molly Thompson, & Owen Call; Siblings Patt (Jerry) Bourbina & Richard (Maureen) Call; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other family members, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by son Darren Call, and brothers Buck & Donald Call.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, cremation is to take place. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, April 21st at W.L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Saginaw, with a visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service. Those wanting to make a gesture of sympathy may wish to donate to Compassus Hospice of Northern Michigan.
