Robert "Jim" Sherman

Sherman, Robert "Jim" Merrill, Michigan Our husband, father and grandfather left this earth surrounded by his wife and children Monday, July 14, 2014, age 73 years. Jim was born in Saginaw, Michigan March 31, 1941 the son of the late Lewis and Martha (Murphy) Sherman. He married Ann Smith January 31, 1959 and she survives him. Jim's grandchildren were his greatest treasure in life. He loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, Twin Oaks hunting camp and beer making. He retired from the Eaton Corporation. In addition to his wife, Ann, Jim is survived by five children, Stephen Sherman, Leisa (Alberto) Gagne, Deidre (James) Frollo, Kristin (Thomas) Thornton and Andrew (Lisa) Sherman; grandchildren, Tiffany, Jacob (Melissa) and Lexi Gagne, Alyssa, Jordan and Laura Frollo, Savannah, Zhenya and Ana Thornton, Shane and Garrett Sherman, Cassie, Brandon, Samantha, Hannah and T.J; a great-granddaughter, Emerson; three siblings, Duane (Gladys) Sherman, June Honaman and David (Marsha) Sherman; a brother-in-law, Jim Luneack; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings, Jackie May, Howard Sherman and Mary Luneack. Our husband and dad did not want a traditional funeral. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. He wanted us to celebrate the life he had, the years he enjoyed with family and friends with fond memories. He often told his grandkids "Remember, I was the fun grandpa".
