Schindehette, Robert T. Linwood, Michigan Passed away early Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Caretel Inns of the Tri-Cities, Bay City, at the age of 96 years. He was born February 12, 1920, in Bay City, Michigan, the son of the late George and Anna (Beebe) Schindehette. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1938 and attended the University of Miami and Alma College. He began his career in the family business, Texaco Saginaw Oil Company in downtown Saginaw, retiring as President and owner. He married Betty Jane Holzhofer on May 16, 1944; she predeceased him on October 25, 1993. Bob and Betty Jane enjoyed spending the winter season in Bradenton, Florida. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, St. Anne Church, Linwood. He had been active in the Linwood community for many years, and was a supporter of the Linwood Ice House Museum. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting, golfing, playing tennis, bird watching, vegetable gardening and dancing. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Ted Barrett, Port Huron; Bebe and Lynn Wolgast, Petoskey; six grandchildren and spouses, Betsy and Craig Koss, Pinckney; Johnny Bromfield, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Teddy and Emily Barrett, Port Huron; David and Tricia Kessel, Bonita Springs, Florida; Polly and John Gruden, Rochester Hills; Robert and Carrie Kessel, Saginaw; ten great-grandchildren; one step-grandson and one step-great-granddaughter, Mike and Ali Wolgast, and their daughter; one niece, Ann and Bill Booth, Bloomfield Village; a caring neighbor and friend, Ann McManmon; and friend, Carol Ploechel. The girls from Purtell's in Pinconning will miss him. They called him Cardigan Bob. He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Schindehette Jr. and Billy Schindehette; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doraldyne "Pud" and Bill Gossel; Georgeanna "Schindy" and Edward Totten; one brother, James Schindehette. Private family services will take place later in the spring of 2016.
