Robert D. Wiles went home to glory on April 6, 2024, at the age of 62.
Bob was born in Saginaw on August 19, 1961, to the late William Dean and Rosemarie (Sohn) Wiles. Bob had absolute confidence in his Savior and was a lifelong Lutheran, primarily at Bethany, where he served on the Board of Education, and then St. Paul’s, both in Saginaw.
From 1981 – 1985, Bob served his country in the United States Navy, then worked for FinishMaster in Saginaw for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed history, music, reading, martial arts, and role-playing games. And he had a knack for knowing just what card his opponent would play next. Great times were had making Grandma’s pancakes, doughnuts, and homemade noodles at the holidays.
One of Bob’s greatest priorities was his family. He married his wife of 36 years, Linda Sue Meyerchick, on July 18, 1987. They were blessed with Amanda Lyn, the apple of his eye. In addition to Linda and Amanda, Bob is survived by son-in-law Christopher Johns, beloved granddaughters Natalie, Lydia, and Emily; siblings Barb Wiles, Rick (Linda) Wiles, Sandy (David) Paul, and Scott (Jill) Kingry; mother-in-law Betty Allen, brothers-in-law Jim and Doug Meyerchick; an uncle, aunts, cousins, and many dear nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 23, from 4:00 – 7:00 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Funeral is Wednesday, April 24, at noon at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St, Saginaw, MI 48602, officiated by Pastor Julius Buelow, with visitation at the church one hour before the service. A luncheon will be served immediately following at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, 2745 W. Genesee, Saginaw.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School.
