Roger Alan Turpin

Roger passed away unexpectedly following a non Covid-19 related illness on Tuesday, December 01, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Roger was born on December 15, 1942 to the late Ira and Genevieve (Martin) Turpin in Canton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Canton South High School (Canton, Ohio), class of 1960. Roger later attended trade school to become a tool and die maker. He married Karen Hudson on April 4, 1964 in Canton, Ohio. They have shared 56 wonderful years as a married couple.

Roger spent many of his working years employed with General Motors as a tool and die maker. Roger retired in 2002 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Saturday Travelers Golf Club for nearly 30 years. He highly enjoyed playing, watching and talking about golf. Roger was considered a “handy man” he could make anything he needed.

Roger is survived by his wife Karen and two daughters Daphne Turpin Forbes (Reginald) and Erika Turpin Reeves (Blair). Also surviving are his grandchildren: Reginald Jr. “RJ”, Madison, Tayah, Rylee, Jon, Justice, Mario, Keyanna, great- grandchildren: Sunny, Mario Jr., Yahrie, many nieces and nephews, and his siblings Benjamin, Nigel, Dawn and Ira Jr.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Roger’s honor.
