Roger Douglas Sharar Saginaw, Michigan It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Sharar announces his passing on March 3, 2018, at the age of 75 years. Roger was born April 4, 1942, in Saginaw, MI to the late Clarence and Emily Sharar. In 1960, he graduated from Arthur Hill High School. In 1963, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy and served several years before he was discharged. Roger married Nancy Nalevayko on June 23, 1972, she preceded him in death on February 12, 2006. Roger worked in construction for many years with long- time friend Tim Geese. He also worked as a maintenance man and was a bartender at Snip and Dales. In his spare time Roger enjoyed watching television, movies; John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were favorites, and he especially enjoyed watching the University of Michigan football games and the Detroit Tigers baseball, of which he was an avid fan. Rogers daughter Amanda gave him a stuffed animal that played the Michigan Fight Song and whenever he was watching a U of M football game at Cotys bar, he would have the song play when they scored a touchdown. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was very proud of his children and would always share pictures of his children and grandchildren with his friends. Roger is survived by his five children, Kimberly Sharar, James Sharar, Christine Arceneaux(Michael), Amanda Bouchard(Josh), and Stephen Sharar; seven grandchildren, Amanda Sharar (Steve Karwowski), Brittany Eback(Nathan), Caitlyn Schaffer (Kristopher Gibb), Chad Sharar, Marshal Clark, Isabelle Sharar and Annalysse Bouchard; four great-grandchildren, Kaylie Karwowski, Rylie Eback, Kayden Sharar and Anton Eback; and many other family members and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Emily Sharar, two brothers, Fred Sharar and Jerry Sharar, one sister-in-law, Ellen Sharar,, a daughter Joanne, a great-granddaughter, Savannah, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Schaffer. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
