Roger Lee Lauckner

Lauckner, Roger Lee Merrill, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away June 5, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Roger was born to the late Conrad "Chum" and Jean (Sabraw) Lauckner on June 4, 1931. He graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School in 1948. He worked in the printing trades for many years. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1956 stationed in Germany. He married Janice Mallek on September 1, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merrill. Roger was an active member of Jonesfield-Lakefield Fire Department for 35 years (1957-1992) serving the last 10 years as the chief. He represented the village of Merrill as Citizen of the Year. Surviving besides his wife Janice, are their children; Karen (Gary) Beougher, Brian Lauckner, Scott (Lori) Lauckner, Keith Lauckner, Julie Lauckner, six grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rudi Ferr and many nieces and nephews. Funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merrill. Rev. Craig Carolan will officiate with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, Merrill on Friday from 2:00-8:00p.m. and on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral liturgy.
