Rolland Norman Pahl Hemlock, Michigan Rolland "Rolly" Pahl kissed the love of his life, Nancy, for the last time and joined his Heavenly Father, Monday, April 29, 2013, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Age 77 years. Rolly was born to the late Viola (Schultz) and Herman Pahl, September 31, 1935, in Hemlock, Michigan where he continued to live all of his life. Rolly married Nancy Kreger, April 23, 1960. His wife of 53 years survives him. Rolly retired from NBD Bank, Hemlock, after 43 years of service, walking to work every day. After retirement, the golf course beckoned and he worked the next 17 years at Twin Bridges Golf Course. Rolly's great loves were his family, his church and his community. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan, attending any and all events. He enjoyed vacations, Hemlock Basketball, bowling, Detroit Tiger games and always a great round of golf. To know Rolly was to know the meaning of honesty, generosity, integrity and trust. Rolly was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, holding many offices. He was also a member of the Lions Club, the Hemlock Booster Club and the Richland Twp. Park Board. Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy, his two children and their spouses, Todd (Keri) Pahl; Sheila (Patrick) Miller; four grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Pahl, Alyssa and Shelby Miller; a sister, Jane (Deane) Doehring; two brothers, Lloyd (Marilyn) Pahl; Daniel (Gwen) Pahl; many nieces and nephews. Rolly was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Leroy. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock, MI. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
