Young, Ronald A. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully early Sunday, August 7, 2016, at his home, with his family by his side. Age 82 years. Ron was born June 19, 1934, in Saginaw, the son of the late Evelyn (Steele) and Nicholas Young. He graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1952 and served with the US Army from 1957 until 1960, as a Staff Sergeant. He had been employed as Senior Vice President of Second National Bank, retiring in June of 1994. Ron had been an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was the first lay person to serve on the Board of Directors at St. Mary's Hospital. He loved history and was a Civil War buff. He married Sandra Odette on September 26, 1964; she survives him. He also leaves one son, one daughter, their spouses, and four grandchildren: Mark and Teresa Young and their daughters, Kristen and Kaitlyn, all of Freeland; Jennifer and Scott Stewart and their sons, Cameron and Grant, all of Williamston; two brothers, Terry Young, Clio; Jack and his wife Judy Young, Bridgeport; several nieces, nephews and their families; many caring and supportive friends. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by an infant sister, Jacqueline Young, and by a brother, David Young. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, where Ron's family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate.
