Ronald "Ron" Dale Koeplinger of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was 85 years old. Ron was born on September 5, 1936, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Floyd and Marguerite (Oehring) Koeplinger. He was a 1954 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Ron attended Bay City Junior College (Delta College) and received his associate degree. He honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy Reserve. Ron's love story began while roller skating at Brockway Roller Rink where he met the love of his life, Rose Marie Herrick. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 29, 1958, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bay City; she survives him. He was a longtime and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. Ron began his working career as a metallurgist at the Dow Chemical Company. He later began working at GM (Nodular and Grey Iron) as a metallurgist, retiring after many years of loyal and dedicated service. Ron and Rose enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and traveling throughout the world. He loved and cherished his family and always made time to attend every family event. He left his indelible mark on this world through his welcoming and kind heart and his ability to connect with all people.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Rose Marie Koeplinger of Saginaw; a son and daughter: Kenneth (Anne) Koeplinger of Lansdale, PA; Ann Schultz of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Christopher (Caitlyn) Schultz, Paige Schultz, David (Caitlyn) Koeplinger, Daniel Koeplinger, and Megan (Ryan) Koeplinger; two nieces and two nephews: Sally (Timothy) Kriewall, Linda Hartz, Michael McDonald, Rob (Jo) McDonald. Also surviving are many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Koeplinger.
A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Private entombment will take place at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
