Ronald E. Cooper, Sr.

Went to join his daughter, Tamera, in Heaven on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the age of 72 years. The son of the late Edwin and Linda (Lefler) Cooper was born on February 12, 1945 in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School the class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and was Stationed in Korea. Ron married Suzanne Sieb on June 9, 1962; she survives him. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1995 after 30 years of service. Ron enjoyed hunting but most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his dogs and having coffee with friends. Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sue, and their children: Ronald (Jennifer) Cooper, Jr., Jill Cooper, eight grandchildren: Stacy (Andrew), Aaron (Erin), Rachel, Jena, Caleb, Rebecca, Tyler, Seth, two great-grandchildren: Alexa, Hailey, son-in-law, Gary, his sister Linda (Roland) Halm and his faithful dog Rainie. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his daughter Tamera and siblings: Edwin John Cooper Jr., Clara Stockford, Treva Boshaw. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd. Pastor Amy Terhune will officiate with military honors at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 7302. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
