Our loving Rosa went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2021. Age 61 years.
Rosa was born on November 15, 1960, daughter of the late Santiago and Isabel (Gonzalez) Garza, in Brownsville, Texas. In 1965 her family moved to St. Louis, MI, where she grew up and later met the love of her life, Pedro. Rosa married Pedro Valenzuela on March 13, 1978. He survives her. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, going to the beach and playing Lotería. Rosa loved and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico with her family and spending time with them. She will be remembered for being feisty, outspoken and sassy, yet very loving.
Rosa will be missed by her husband, Pedro; her children, Pedro, Nora and Juan (Ariana) Valenzuela; 13 grandchildren, Lousienna, Juan, Rudy, Juan Jr., Alicia, Ana, Quintay, Marcelo, Rosa, Pedro IV, Alejandro, Ayden and Kayden; 3 great grandchildren and one on the way; her brothers and sisters, Santiago (Daisy) Garza, Hilda (Jose) Martinez, Jose Angel Garza, Genovera Diaz, Maggie (Lester) Sims and David Garza; her extended family, Sara Tafel, Quintay Hart, many nieces, nephews, cousins and the neighborhood kids. She was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Pedro and Ana Maria Valenzuela, grandson, Esteban Hart, brothers, Adan, Guadalupe and Alfredo Garza, brother-in-law, Rafael Diaz, nephew, Jeremy Garza, niece, Christine Diaz and aunt, Antonia Garza.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Kevin Leaman and Pastor Travis Thayer will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral chapel.
