Rosalinda Garcia

Rosalinda “Linda” Garcia of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Ascension – St. Mary’s Hospital. She was 68 years old. Rosalinda Westbrooks was born on January 27, 1954, in Mercedes, Texas, to the late Fred and Rosaura (Rosales) Westbrooks. Her entire life, Linda was a hard worker. She grew up working in the migrant fields in various states before meeting the love of her life, Dominigo Garcia, in Saginaw, Michigan, a night club. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage for 40 years; he survives her. Linda was employed with Elbia Beauty Salon and Michigan Premier Laundry for many years of loyal and dedicated service. The role of her lifetime was to become a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda had a special love and affinity toward children, especially her grandchildren, often babysitting whenever she could. While living in Mansfield, Ohio, Linda was a member of her mother’s church. She was a superb cook and baker, knowing the secret ingredient, “love”, was required to make everything taste to perfection. Linda also enjoyed sewing and could fix anything for her family with a needle and thread. Her little piece of heaven was working in her yard. She will forever be remembered for her selfless love of all people and loving without judgement, volunteering her time at her children’s school, her wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile, and for truly living an amazing life filled with wonderful stories and fond memories.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Domingo Garcia of Saginaw; Michigan; four sons and two daughters: Traci Crawford of Mansfield, OH; Roger (Angie) Merrill of Cadillac; Domingo Garcia Jr. of Saginaw; Andres Garcia of Saginaw; Marcos (Delores) Garcia of Saginaw; Monica Garcia of Saginaw; five step-children: James (Dori) Garcia, Lisa Benavides, Rosemary (Daniel) Acevedo, Cristina Garcia, and Armando (Yazmin) Garcia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Alfaye Givand, Lori Thompson and Johnny Westbrooks; and a best-best friend, Hilda Lowe. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Garcia; son-in-law, Steve Crawford; mother, Rosaura (Fred) Westbrooks; and a brother, Larry Westbrooks “Big Papa”.
