Rose Julia (Vedrode) Frollo

Passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at St. Francis Home. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Beatrice (Bernath) and Louis Vedrode was born February 23, 1927 in Merrill, Michigan and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She married William John Frollo, February 15, 1947. He passed away December 26, 2012. She was employed by the Hemlock Public Schools, retiring with many years of service. She was an active member of St. John XXIII, St. Mary of Hemlock, Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the League of Catholic Women. She was a TOPS queen, played the harmonica and accordion. She enjoyed the casino, playing bingo and the lottery, polka dancing, and going to garage and estate sales. She was an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan. Most of all, she enjoyed her family, particularly her grandchildren andgreat grandchildren. Surviving are six children and their spouses, William Frollo Jr. and his wife, Alice; David and Sally Frollo, all of Hemlock; Janine Gehrig, Frankenmuth; Christine Rohn, St. Marys, Ohio; James and Deidre Frollo, Hemlock; John and Donna Frollo, St. Charles, MI; a son-in-law, Thomas Cavanaugh, Kalamazoo; her grandchildren and their spouses, Darla Horgan and her husband, Al Mouzon; Jill Cavanaugh; Tony and Kathy Frollo; Jason and Charlene Frollo; David Frollo, serving with the U.S. A.F in Germany and his wife, Michelle; Angelique Frollo; Amy and Jeremiah Allen; Thomas Gehrig and Raven; Joshua Rohn; Alyssa Frollo, Jordan Frollo, Laura Frollo; Nicholas Frollo, Zachary Frollo, Gabriella Frollo; her great grandchildren, Jake, Audrey, Elaina, Ben, Henry, Avery, Ethan, Daniel, Logan, Jacob, Dylan, Arianna, Lilly and Grace; her sisters, Patricia (Stan) Kaiser; Pauline Howe, Julie McCormick; her sisters-in-law, Pauline Vedrode, Ann Zimmer, Josephine Meyers and Donna Frollo; a brother-in-law, Martin Frollo; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Ann Cavanaugh; two grandsons, Jeremy and Jacob Rohn; six brothers, Zeke, Louis, Frank, Steve, Joe and Ernest Vedrode. In accordance with Mrs. Frollo's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at St. John XXIII, St. Mary of Hemlock Church, 151 St. Mary's Drive, Hemlock. Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk will officiate. Family and friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, until time of the funeral liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John XXIII, St. Mary of Hemlock Church, or the Hemlock Sports Boosters. Mrs. Frollo's family wish to thank the staff and caregivers at St. Francis Home and Covenant Health Care for their care and assistance. Rose always looked forward to and appreciated the visits from family and many friends.
