Rose Marie David of Merrill, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 86 years. Rose Marie Traub was born on January 7, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Nick and Hazel (Munson) Traub. She was graduate of Ss. Peter & Paul High School. Rose Marie's love story began while skating at the Brockway Roller Rink where she met the love of her life, Donald David. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 14, 1954; holding hands for 65 years until he preceded her in death on November 4, 2019. Rose Marie was a faithful member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved and excelled at crossword puzzles. Rose enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing, especially blankets for babies, scarves, clothing, and making hunting clothing for her son. She had a beautiful voice and could often be found singing nursery rhyme songs. Rose Marie was also an excellent cook. She knew exactly how many cups of love, dashes of goodness, and pinches of care were needed to make everything she made taste great. Rose Marie will forever be remembered for her amazing ability to be unbelievably selfless and loving. She left her indelible mark in this world through her profound kindness; she was priceless.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Russell (Jill) David of Freeland; Shawn (Maria) David of Homestead, FL; Carol (Scott) Schuler of Freeland; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jack (Connie) Traub of Hemlock; Jerry (Pat) Traub of CA; sister-in-law, Beverly Traub of Ionia. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald David; brother, Nick Traub.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Michael F. Steltenkamp will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery - Ryan. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
