Rose Marie Vallier (Zenker)

Rose Marie Vallier (Zenker) of Saginaw

Passed away on Monday, August 15^th, 2022, at the age of 87. She was born in Newberry, Michigan, to the late Wray & Bertha (Etten) Zenker, and was a graduate of Newberry High School. Rose spent her working years in the Saginaw Township school system, finishing her long career overseeing the lunch program. She met Vincent “Vince” Vallier while in school in Newberry and the two married on November 22^nd, 1953. He survives her. In her free time, Rose was a devoted mother to her four boys, especially Daniel, who she supported after his injury. She could always be found attending their football and baseball games and loved cooking the family’s meals, mirroring the countless children she helped feed through her work in the lunchroom. She loved travelling with Vince and Danny, camping all over the US and Canada. Rose was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers, loved gardening, and spent the last 25 winters in Winterhaven, Florida. She is remembered as being friendly, loving, and family-oriented, always willing to help in anyone’s kitchen.

Rose is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years Vince Vallier, sons Steve Vallier, Mike Vallier, David & Holly Vallier, and Danny Vallier; grandchildren Christine & Kurt Englehart, Adam & Kimber Vallier, Katie Vallier, Sarah Vallier and fiancé Brandon, Stephanie Vallier, and Danielle Vallier; great grandchildren Braylon Vallier, Colton Vallier, Bayly Vallier and fiancé Luke,  Audrey Englehart, and Valerie Englehart; sibling Richard & Alyce Zenker, Barbara Zandi, and Nancy Arndt; and brother-in-law Arthur Fairchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends. 

Rose was preceded in death by sibling Betty & Ray Hosler, and Nellie Fairchild; and siblings-in-law Leonard Zandi & Joseph Arndt.

A funeral liturgy for Rose will take place at 10:00am on Friday, August 19^th, at SS Peter and Paul, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Saginaw, MI 48638, with Fr. Steve Gavit presiding. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 18^th from 2:00pm-7:00pm at W.L. Case & Company Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603, and at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial is to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
