Ross J. Gowans

Ross J. Gowans Florence, Kentucky Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in Florence, Kentucky. Age 91 years. Ross was born April 13, 1924 in Barton, Maryland, the son of the late David and Bessie (Ross) Gowans. He married Betty J. (Frayer) Bamberger. She passed away November 24, 2014. Ross was a Merchant Marine for 43 years and honorably served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WWII. He lived in Florence, Kentucky the past 11 months. Surviving are their children, Norman (Nancy) Bamberger; Mark (Jan) Bamberger; Paul Bamberger, grandchildren: Tricia Bamberger, J.J. Bamberger; Barbara Davis; Enid Bamberger; Kristin Wilson; Nicole Cook; Honey Becker; Missy Miles; Nicole Turner; Marcia Fuller, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren whom loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Ross touched many lives over the years and anyone that met him realized immediately that they had just met one of the very few true gentlemen in the world. The funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Saturday September 19, 2015, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev.
