Roy D. Markva of Saginaw, Michigan
Went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison following a brief illness. He was 73 years old. Roy Dale Markva was born on June 29, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Emil Markva and Bertha Kratochril. He was a proud 1964 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Roy began working for General Motors - Steering Gear, working many years until his retirement. He was a former member of the Burt Baptist Church and was a current member of Old Town Christian Outreach Center. Roy loved classic cars, especially being able to ride and work on them. As a young man he enjoyed riding motorcycles, weightlifting, and fitness. He also enjoyed reading, specifically spiritual books about biblical history. He will forever be remembered for his selflessness for those he was close to and for being helpful with neighbors and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Valerie T. (Ken) David, III, of Clio; two granddaughters: Tabitha and Solea David of Clio; two very dear friends: Mr. and Mrs. Cesario Huerta Sr.; two very special neighbors: Gerald Scales and Diane Regalado, and her son, Antonio Sanchez III.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an uncle, Rudy "Butch" Markva.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor William Bodnar will officiate. Honoring Roys wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Old Town Christian Outreach Center.
