Roy Oliver Eagle

Eagle, Roy Oliver West Branch, Michigan (formerly of Saginaw) Passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his home, age 72 years. Roy was born in Saginaw, Michigan September 24, 1941 the son of the late Roy F. and Victoria (Koszczuk) Eagle. He graduated from St. Mary High School. He married Mary Wilson September 23, 1967 at Queen of Angels, Saginaw. She survives him. Roy worked for Baker Perkins as a lab technician for 41 years. He served in the United States Army National Guard and was an amateur radio operator (WB8UXJ). He managed the Wilhoga Hunting & Fishing Club in Roscommon County for many years and instilled his love of hunting, fishing and camping in all three of his sons. Roy remained very active in his retirement years, riding his mountain bike and walking extensively. In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by three sons, C. Andrew (Karen) Eagle, Lansing, MI, William O. (Christine) Eagle, Howell, Michigan and R. David (Kristin) Eagle, Gaylord, MI; three grandchildren, Aden, Kathleen and Sage; a sister, Patricia (Sidney) Sutton; a brother, John F. Eagle; several cousins and nephews. Roy lost a very dear pal when his black lab, Rocky predeceased him. The funeral liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 South Washington. Rev. Fr. David Jenuwine will officiate. Military services will take place under the auspices of VFW Post No. 1859, Carrollton. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Tuesday from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
