Ruben "Coach" Garza

Ruben "Coach" Garza Burt, MI Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the age of 64 years. Ruben was born November 24, 1950, in Saginaw to the late Ruben and Ramona (Vasquez) Garza. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Champagne on August 24, 1969; she survives him. He worked for St. Mary's as a LPN for 25 years. He then worked for VNA Hospice. He was a high school football/track coach for Douglas MacArthur, Heritage, and Birch Run schools. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Besides his wife Betty he is survived by his children, Jason (Michelle) Garza, Amy (Mark) Saunders, Angela (Frank) Stevens; grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, Maegan, Benjamin, Jonah, Aaron, Caleb, Ruben, Morgen, Franklin, and Kason; sister, Rita (Mark) Watkins; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandsons Samuel and Daniel. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will conduct private services at a later date.
