Russell Clare Knippel Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Covenant Cooper. Age 79 years. The son of the late Mary (Veague) and Russell Clare Knippel Sr. was born August 17, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Judith A. Rose, July 15, 1961. She passed away June 14, 1991. Russell retired from General Motors. He enjoyed cooking, the theater, traveling, but most of all was very active in his familys lives and activities. Surviving are two children, Rae Ann and Jim Diedrich; Russell Knippel III; two grandsons, Dominic Castillo and Jonathan Knippel; two brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Gregg and Kay Knippel; Brian Knippel; Mary Ann and Jim Larkin, Kristine and Mike Beechler; several nieces, nephews, his special Goddaughter, Rebecca Kabat and a sister-in-law, Dolores Strong. He was predeceased by a son, Andrew Knippel, a granddaughter, Judith Ann Knippel, and a brother, John Knippel. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Jerry Larkin will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday.
