Russell Garland Marker Brighton, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw Passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, in Brighton, Michigan. Age 97 years. The son of the late Ray and Ticie (Sternhagen) Marker was born September 19, 1917 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He served with the U.S. Army, European Theatre, during WWII. He married Stella Patricia Anderson, July 6, 1940. She passed away April 21, 1983. He later married Jacqueline Mayfield, November 23, 1983. She survives him. He was a charter member of St. Helen Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4232. Russell was employed by General Motors Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1974 with 36 years of service. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Hole-in-one club and enjoyed gardening. Surviving besides his wife, Jacqueline, are two daughters, Judith Henning; Mary Lynn Krygier and her husband, Ernie; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Russell Henning; Deborah Henning; Michelle and Andy Henthorn; Stephanie and Mike Carney' Brian Swanton; Jennifer and Scott Bradenton; Ernie Krygier III and his wife, Melissa; several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Pamela Dougherty; Lucy Scott and her husband Paul; four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Amanda Gillette; Brad Dougherty; Catherine and Greg Stoey; Matthew Scott. A son-in-law, Gerald Henning and two brothers, Erwin and Robert Marker have predeceased him. The funeral liturgy will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Campus, 2445 N. Charles St. Saginaw. Rev. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday and then at the Church from Noon Wednesday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
