Sheltraw, Ruth Margaret Hemlock, MI Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the age of 90 years. Ruth was born November 30, 1924, in Hemlock to the late Edwin and Minnie (Zastrow) Preuss. She married Weldon Sheltraw on May 26; 1946; he survives her. They owned Sheltraw's Market for many years. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling together. She was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Mary Martha Club and the Altar Society. She enjoyed quilting, making rugs and stained glass, and baking for her family and church. She was a supportive grandmother faithfully attending all her grandchildren's sporting events. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Besides her husband of nearly 69 years she is survived by her children, Connie (Jim) Krueger and Curt (Janis) Sheltraw; grandchildren, Tammy (Alan) Collard, Keith (Caryn) Krueger, Chad Krueger, Kelly Sheltraw, and Kerry Sheltraw; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Bernice (Wilbert) Rossow and Irene (Edwin) Oldenburg. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at St. Peter Lutheran Church 2461 N. Raucholz Road in Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
