Saint Mary E. Ramsey

Ramsey, Saint Mary E. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her home, at the age of 83 years. Mary E. Simpson was born August 5, 1930, in Tyronza, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Alonzo A. and Viola (McDonald) Simpson. She had been employed by the Saginaw Country Club and Bay City Country Club. She later owned her own catering business, and then retired from Saginaw High School. She was a member of the Greater Williams Temple, C.O.G.I.C., and was a State Missionary of the Church of God in Christ. She had six children: Harriett Hutson, Glendale, Arizona; John Albert Woods Jr., deceased; Valerie Woods-Hill (Henry Hill Jr.), Saginaw; Donovan Lamont Woods, deceased; Renee A. Hawkins-Morris (Lawrence L. Buckley), Saginaw; Ineka Henderson-Nelson (Reggie Nelson), Iowa; her step-daughter, Connie Ramsey; her grandchildren: Vesha V. Wiezel, Michelle M. Campbell (Walter), Illya K. Fite, John Albert Woods III, John Albert Woods IV (John John), Katia White, Johneice Alisa Devette, Chloe, Jada and Kara Woods, LaTrina Smith (Tory), Stanley W. Howell, deceased, Mary Earl Jackson (Mike), Howard McClendon (Crystal), DamBriell McClendon (Mimi), Donovan Brittain (Michelle), Darius Brittain, Remus Woods (Charonda), Donesha Moorer, Dontae Farris, Tamika J. Kemp, Tracy Hawkins (Heather), Micheal Williams, deceased, Ineka Henderson, and Arnell Henderson; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Emma Faye Simpson, Jack T. Simpson, and Margaret Shirley Simpson, all deceased, and Alonzo Simpson (Diana); many nieces, nephews and their families; her special friend, Margaret Walker; her Godson, Herbert Williams. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Greater Williams Temple, C.O.G.I.C., 608 E. Remington Street, where her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Bishop H. J. Williams will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
